Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor for Windows and macOS
created and published by Adobe Inc. As a result, the software's name has become
a generic trademark, leading to its use as a verb, though Adobe discourages
this. Photoshop can edit and compose raster images in multiple layers, and it
includes masks, alpha compositing, and a variety of color models such as RGB,
CMYK, CIELAB, spot color, and anaglyph. To support these features, Photoshop
employs its own PSD and PSB file formats. In addition to raster graphics,
Photoshop has limited capabilities for editing or rendering text and vector
graphics (particularly vector graphics via clipping path), as well as 3D
graphics and video. Its feature set can be expanded by plug-ins, which are
programs created and distributed independently of Photoshop that run both
inside and outside of it.
Krita
Krita is a free and open-source raster graphics editor primarily
intended for digital painting and 2D animation. It is compatible with Windows,
macOS, Linux, Android, and Chrome OS. It has an OpenGL-accelerated canvas,
support for color management, an advanced brush engine, non-destructive layers
and masks, group-based layer management, vector artwork support, and switchable
customization profiles.
